Funeral arrangements made for Mid-Michigan soldier found dead in barracks

FORT HOOD, TX (WNEM) -

A Mid-Michigan soldier has been found dead in his barracks room.

Fort Hood officials say Private Robert Jeffrey Snear, 21, was from Coleman, Michigan. That’s in Midland County.

Snear had been assigned to Fort Hood since January 2014 in the 720th Military Police Brigade.

He had been awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

The circumstances of his death are currently under investigation according to a press release from Fort Hood.

Snear's funeral is Monday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Greater Midland Coleman Family Center in Coleman. His burial takes place at the Warren Township Cemetery.
