ANN ARBOR, MI (WNEM) -

Almost everyone has heard of the term sexting.

It’s a form of intimate, sexual conversations via text message.

People in long-distance relationships do it, as well as people on dating sites. Now, the trend has become a health problem for children.

A survey conducted by the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital ranked sexting as the sixth biggest child health concern. It was ranked 13 in 2014.

Sexting ranks ahead of smoking, school violence, and teen pregnancy, according to the survey.

Health concerns that ranked above sexting included childhood obesity, drug abuse, bulling, and internet safety.
