DETROIT, MI (WNEM) -

A Detroit man was convicted by a federal jury for sex trafficking.

According to the prosecution, Curry found his 15- and 16-year-old victims in Mt. Pleasant. Curry used physical violence and threats to control his victims, including beating one with a metal broomstick when she disobeyed him.

He took explicit photographs of the victims and used those photographs as advertisements for commercial sex with the victims.

Attorney Barbara L. McQuade said Curry used his victims for profit.

“Sex traffickers like this one treat human beings like commodities to be traded for cash,” McQuade said.

Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 9. Curry faces a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.
