BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A Bay County judge has decided the fate of a dog that bit a pair of police officers.

The judge said Sarge the pit bull mix can live, but only if his current owner gives him up by Tuesday.

There are many more conditions as well.

A qualified owner must be found, an owner that has no relationship with the previous owner.

The dog must also be trained by professionals for three weeks.

If they deem the dog is not responding to the training, it will be euthanized.
