Man was roughed up at Kid Rock concert by security

Posted: Updated:

Michael Slough attended the Kid Rock concert last Saturday night in Detroit.

"I was confused I had no idea what was going on," Slough said.

Slough, with his girlfriend and several other friends, was having a great time at DTE Energy Music Festival watching their favorite artist rock out on stage.

But things went downhill in an instant.

“They dragged me down the hill in front of thousands of people, tackled me to the ground," Slough said.

Slough said security guards jumped on top of him from behind and said someone grabbed him around the neck.

"It was embarrassing and scary and unjustified. It's not right," Slough said.

According to this frustrated concert-goer, he was accused of pointing a laser at Kid Rock on stage.

"They said the stage manager saw me pointing a laser beam towards the stage," Slough said.

The only thing Slough had on him was an electronic cigarette, which lights up blue when he inhales.

"There is no way this could have been mistaken for a laser light," Slough said.

After pleading his case with security, Slough said he was still thrown out with all ten of his friends. Now he's furious they jumped him before clarifying what was in his hand and if he was actually him pointing a light on stage.

Slough said he called DTE several times, demanding an apology and a refund. He said he was offered free tickets to a future show, but he’s not willing to accept it.

"I don't think I'll ever be going back there – not after that kind of treatment," Slough said.

TV5 made calls to DTE, but they were not returned.
