BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

The money card had been elusive for 53 weeks.

"It's just very, very exciting," said Pam Skillman, booster club president.

The Bay City Central Booster Club had been a part of something magical.

"Just to see how many people have come out to buy tickets, that's what absolutely has blown our minds," Skillman said.

The fundraising pot grew exponentially and on Wednesday night more than 50,000 tickets vied for a nearly $132,000 pot.

The name drawn had a 50 percent shot to win a take-home check worth nearly $60,000.

Of course there was plenty of excitement and then came the drawing.

Lucia Ramirez's name was chosen and in the envelope was the coveted ace of hearts.

Lucia Ramirez was not at the event. The 3-year-old was at home getting ready for bed.

A relative called her dad Rick Ramirez.

Rick Ramirez had recently been laid off, but this week he put Lucia's name in, along with his other daughter in hopes to win.

He said it couldn't have come at a better time.
