Lucky has been adopted

SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The pit bull mix found thrown in a ditch has been adopted.

Lucky was discovered by Frankenmuth Police Officer William Gutzwiller on Aug. 14. And on Sept. 3, Saginaw County Adoptable Pets announced on Facebook that Lucky has been adopted.

"Lucky has been adopted by a Vet Tech who can continue to provide the medical care, physical care, love, patience, compassion and understanding that it will require to allow him to heal."

Since Lucky was rescued, the Humane Society has offered a $5,000 reward and state Sen. Ken Horn and his wife have offered $500 for information to Lucky’s abuser.

“Anyone who knows Veronica and me is aware of our love for dogs,” Horn said. “This is absolutely inhumane and I would like to see that individual or individuals who did this pay for what they’ve done.”

Horn has introduced two pieces of legislation to the Senate aimed at increasing the penalties for harming animals.

Anyone with information on the individuals believed to have abused Lucky is encouraged to contact the Saginaw County Animal Care Center at 989-797-4500.
