Deputies: alcohol possible factor in crash that injured 4 year old

TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Deputies say alcohol may have been a factor in a crash that sent a woman and 4-year-old child to the hospital.

Tuscola County Deputies were called to the Village of Reese on Friday at 10:50 p.m. for a crash on M-81.

Investigators found that a 24-year-old woman from Bay City was driving on M-81 when she ran off the road and hit a tree.

But investigators say she didn’t stop there. They say she continued on and hit a street light pole, causing the pole to fall over. At that point the vehicle lost a tire, but continued on and hit a no parking sign.

The driver finally stopped in the middle of the road.

Both the driver and the 4-year-old boy were taken to McLaren Bay Regional Hospital for minor injuries.

Investigators say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, and the accident report has been sent to the prosecutor.
