Potential scam involving DTE Energy

Police are investigation a potential scam in Mid-Michigan. 

The Alpena Police Department is investigating multiple reports of a phone scam. 

According to police, a caller claims to be representing DTE Energy and says the customer is behind on their payment. They then request the money is sent through Western Union or MoneyGram. 

DTE Energy is aware of the situation. Account information can be verified at DTEenergy.com or by calling customer support at 800-477-4747.
