Outpouring of support for Trooper Wolf's family on GoFundMe page

GRAND BLANC, MI (WNEM) -

On Tuesday, there was silence. It was a moment of reflection as the body of Michigan State Police Trooper Chad Wolf arrived at his final resting place.

Sarah Strygulec said it's been an emotional few days.

"Seeing grown men sobbing is going to take a toll on someone," Strygulec said.

She knows the Wolf family well, always answering the call to babysit their four kids.

"Mr. Wolf was the best person I've ever met in my life," Strygulec said.

And now she's answering another call. She set up a GoFundMe page where thousands have opened their hearts and wallets.

Onalee Aguilar, the training officer with the Saginaw Fire Department, said Trooper Wolf's death hits close to home.

She didn't know him, but felt obligated to donate.

"If there's something that I could do to help, that's why I get into this profession, because we want to help people," Aguilar said.

Addison Wasalaski said first responder work cannot go unnoticed, especially when tragedy strikes. And that's why he pitched in.

"The loss of life is never easy, especially for someone with four kids, I wish I could have donated a little bit more, but every little bit counts," Wasalaski said.

And the stories could be found across the world and with any amount.

"I would want somebody to do something like that if something happened to me, or someone in my department, or anyone really," Aguilar said.

Strygulec says the outpouring of support has been incredible. She believes this tribute speaks much louder than just money.

"The part that really helped me through is that I was doing something to help them. And even though it was a hard time for me, it was, I was doing something to help them in the future," Strygulec said.

The amount donated to the page has surpassed Strygulec’s goals, and she’s raised the goal several times over the last few days.
