Alleged drunk man passes out on train tracks, gets clipped by train

CARROLLTON, MI (WNEM) -

A Mid-Michigan man is lucky to be alive after he was almost run over by a train Wednesday night.

The man, identified as 36-year-old Matthew Means from Carrollton Township, was allegedly drunk and passed out on some railroad tracks near Shattuck and Elm in Carrollton Township.

A Huron and Eastern Saginaw Valley railroad train engineer saw the man, tried to stop, and sounded his horn.

Means was clipped by the train, which was going about 10 mph.

He is being treated for minor injuries.

The incident happened about 11 p.m.
