CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A man and a woman were arrested and charged with several crimes after police were called to a breaking and entering in Mid-Michigan.

Deputies from the Clare County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home on East Park in Harrison for a breaking and entering on Sept. 7.

While on their way there, a deputy observed a red pick-up truck that matched the description of the vehicle involved in the breaking and entering, police said.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle when a male occupant exited the pick-up and fled on foot. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene. She was a 38-year-old woman from Harrison, police said.

The pick-up was stolen from a residence in Burton earlier that day.

The woman was arrested for breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit a breaking and entering, receiving and concealing stolen property, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.

Michigan State Police troopers and a K-9 unit arrived to assist the deputies in the search for the suspect who had fled on foot.

While searching for the suspect they received a call about a male suspect attempting to steal a vehicle on North Bass Lake in Harrison, police said.

The deputies and the troopers responded to the area where a pursuit took place with a 28-year-old Harrison man.

The suspect was driving a pick-up truck that collided with a Michigan State Police patrol car during the pursuit, police said.

There were no injuries as a result of the accident and the man was taken into custody.

The male suspect had allegedly stolen the pick-up truck after he fled the original traffic stop, police said.

He was arrested and charged for unlawful driving away of an auto, fleeing and eluding police, breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

Both suspects are being held at the Clare County Jail.
