GRAYLING, Mich. (AP) -

Nearly 500 state-owned, tax-foreclosed properties across Michigan are for sale at auction.

The state Treasurer's office says more than 250 parcels in Dickinson, Iosco, Iron, Kalkaska, Luce and Mecosta counties will go to auction Wednesday at the Ramada Inn in Grayling.

The second day of the auction will be held Thursday at the Ramada Lansing Hotel & Conference Center in Lansing for another 200 properties in Branch, Clinton, Eaton, Livingston and Shiawassee counties.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. each day. The auctions start at 10 a.m.

The state says properties being auctioned have been foreclosed due to delinquent property taxes. They include vacant residential or commercial lots. Some may have occupied or abandoned structures on them.

Bidders assume the responsibility to research the properties.
