TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Danielle Forbes is relieved that her son, Travis Neumeyer, is heading back to school.

"We're happy that he gets to attend school with all of his friends now," Forbes said.

She got a call from the Reese School District on Wednesday, informing her that Travis is now enrolled.

TV5 first brought you her story on Tuesday.

Forbes said Neumeyer wasn't allowed to attend Reese High School. She couldn't figure out why. Especially since her other child, a fourth grader, was attending class in the same school system. Now her both of her children are Reese Rockets.

"I like the education out there," Forbes said.

The superintendent of Reese Schools said he would not discuss any individual student cases.

"I feel great! I get to go back and see my friends, my new teachers, and everything," Neumeyer said.

Neumeyer said he's excited for his first day of class on Thursday.

"Just want to get back and do my thing. New things this year," Neumeyer said.

Meanwhile, Forbes said she's ready to put this chapter behind her and instead wants to focus on making sure both of her children have a great school year.

"Travis has some goals. Like he wants to basketball and stuff this year so hopefully he does better this year in school and can participate in those kind of school activities," Forbes said.
