DETROIT, MI (WNEM) -

The Great Recession officially ended six years ago, but several cities are still feeling the aftermath.

Since 2008, 14 cities and towns have declared bankruptcy. Detroit is one of them.

WalletHub compared the 150 largest cities in the U.S. among different economic factors and ranked the most and least recession recovered cities.

Detroit ranked 142 overall out of 150. It ranked 130 for employment and earning opportunities and 148 for economic environment.

According to the study, Detroit had the lowest home price appreciation and the lowest decreased in poverty rate.

The only other Michigan city to make the list was Grand Rapids. It ranked 68 overall, with 56 for employment and earning opportunities and 89 for economic environment.

Grand Rapids had the highest decrease in unemployment out of the 150 cities, according to the study.
