EMU to sell beer at this weekend's football game

YPSILANTI, MI (AP) -

Beer could be making its way to a college football game near you.

Eastern Michigan University is set to sell beer during their home game this weekend against Ball State.

The school calls it a one-day pilot program.

No universities in Mid-Michigan say they are looking into doing anything similar.

Saginaw Valley State University spokesperson J.J. Boehm said selling beer at football games is not something the university is considering right now.

“It does seem to be an emerging trend, just reading about what’s going on in the news. But it's not something we plan to do here at SVSU,” Boehm said.
