Police get free meal at local restaurant

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Anacelias, an authentic Mexican restaurant, is showing its appreciation for the men and woman in blue.

"I just want to do something nice for them to show them that we do care," said Frank Molina, restaurant owner.

Molina gives police officers anything they want off their lunch menu all day, free of charge. He said he wants to do something good for cops, because he believes those who serve and protect are getting a bad wrap.

"All the negative feedback that I've been seeing basically on Facebook and the news about police officers, not just in Flint, but all over the country," Molina said.

Customers said they love the idea of this business giving away this free food to the men and women behind the badge who put their lives on the line for us every day.

Molina plans to keep the free meals in place for the rest of the year and hopes to expand the offer to firefighters and EMTs at some point. All he asks is that police officers show up in uniform, and they’re invited to enjoy a meal at the Flint establishment.

"You're doing a great job and we just want to say thank you," Molina said.
