MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

A man was arrested after he allegedly waved a handgun outside a Burger King restaurant.

Mt. Pleasant police officers responded to a fight at the Burger King parking lot about 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 23.

One of the suspects had a handgun and attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle, police said.

The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Mission and Broomfield.

Leon Gilliam, 21, of Saginaw, was identified as the driver and the suspect with the handgun.

Police searched the vehicle and recovered a Smith and Wesson handgun, a plastic holster, and a handgun magazine with thirteen rounds.

Gilliam was taken into custody and lodged at the Isabella County Jail. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Two other passengers in the vehicle were arrested for probation violations out of Saginaw.
