TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A 17-year-old male has been arrested for breaking and entering.

The incident happened on Monday about 8 p.m. at a home on Hess road in Tuscola County.

The homeowner returned from work and discovered his home had been broken into and several items were missing, police said.

Deputies from the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office and a Michigan State Police tracking dog were called to the scene.

Neighbors also called 911 to report items in their yards. Those items matched those that were taken in the breaking and entering, police said.

The tracking dog led neighbors to a home on Ellis Road.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old male at the Tuscola County Jail and charged him with breaking and entering.

The investigation showed other suspects were involved, police said.
