KALAMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information after a wounded pet cat was found with an arrow through his chest in a rural part of Michigan.

The feline, named "Booger" was found in Kalamo Township, in Eaton County.

The Capital Area Humane Society, which is caring for the animal, reports that the cat made it through surgery to have the arrow removed and he is in excellent condition.

Officials believe the animal was used as crossbow target practice, because the arrow, known as a bolt, had a type of tip used for target practice.

If you have any information to help solve this crime, please contact Eaton County Animal Control at (517) 543-5755 or CAHS at (517) 626-6060.

The Humane Society has a special fund dedicated to helping animals in cases like this. Check that out here.
