Police ID suspects in Goodwill robbery

FRANKENMUTH, MI (WNEM) -

Two men stole from a Goodwill Industries collection center.

Video of the two suspects were taken last month.

"The video was actually recorded back on Sept. 19, approximately 9 p.m.," said Frankenmuth Police Sgt. James McLaughlin.

The suspects decided it was Christmas in autumn, going into a locked off area to steal the donated items.

This isn't the first time that something's been stolen from this donation center, earlier this year someone took a snow blower.

The incidents have police scratching their heads.

"Well, it doesn't seem to make any sense, to us. Apparently it's an easy target for these individuals to go in, enter the property and take what they want," McLaughlin said.

Goodwill's mission statement is to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.

In the past the organization declined to press charges who stole from it here. Police said that policy has now changed.

Frankenmuth Police have identified both suspects. The incident remains under investigation.
