3 injured in accident involving Amish buggy

CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Three people were injured in a vehicle crash involving an Amish buggy.

The incident happened on Oct. 13 shortly before 7 p.m. on Beaverton Road near Brand Avenue in Clare County.

The Amish buggy was being driven by Henry Stutzman, 27, of Clare. He was traveling east on Beaverton Road when the buggy was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Suburban, police said.

The Suburban was being driven by 45-year-old Stacy Demoines, of Beaverton.

Stutzman, along with his 2-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter, were treated at the scene by MMR and then transported to the Clare Hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Demoines was not injured in the crash.

The Suburban received front end damage and the buggy sustained extensive damage, police said.
