SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A 30-year-old man was injured in a vehicle accident on Tuesday.

The incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. on the 2300 block of W. Marlette Road in Sanilac County’s Elmer Township.

Eric Alexander, 30, of Melvin, was driving a 1995 Chrysler Concorde eastbound on Marlette Road when he went off the north side of the road, striking a driveway abutment, police said.

The vehicle came to a rest on the driveway and Alexander was trapped inside.

The Brown City Fire Department extricated Alexander using the Jaws of Life, police said.

Alexander was transported to Marlette Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
