SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

If you haven’t filled up lately, you might want to hurry up and do it.

After reporting Wednesday that gas prices dropped below the $2 mark in some parts of Mid-Michigan, gasbuddy.com is reporting those prices are going to start rising across the state.

Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan tweeted Thursday that prices are going to start going up to $2.39 a gallon. DeHaan said a 16 cent per gallon jump in market and spot prices is probably to blame.

Before noon, GasBuddy.com was still reporting stations under the $2 a gallon mark in Flint. One as low as $1.90 for a gallon of regular unleaded.

Stations in Saginaw, Midland, and Bay City were over $2, ranging anywhere from $2.08 a gallon to $2.20.

Approaching 5 p.m., gas prices were creeping up to $2.39 in counties across Mid-Michigan.
