BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

Surveillance cameras caught a robbery suspect in the act, and police were able to identify him after a week.

The Bay City Department of Public Safety said a man walked into the Marathon Gas Station at 2024 Center Avenue in Bay City about 11 p.m. on Oct. 20.

The man showed the clerk a “barrel” under his coat, leading police to believe he was armed with a pipe or a long gun, and then demanded money and cigarettes.

The 27-year-old Bay City suspect was arrested on Oct. 27.

Police were able to identify him based on the evidence they collected and the information they received, police said.

He was arraigned on Oct. 28 and his bond was set at $100,000.
