Woman injured in multi-vehicle crash

CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A 40-year-old Harrison woman was injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Wednesday.

The accident happened at the intersection of Clare Avenue and Cranberry Lake Road in Clare County’s Hayes Township.

Rae Johnson was driving a 1997 Buick LeSabre when she attempted to turn left onto Clare Avenue from Cranberry Lake Road. She did not see a 2010 Dodge Caravan traveling north on Clare Avenue, police said.

The Caravan was driven by Michael Czuprenski, 62, of Howell.

Johnson pulled out in front of Czupresnki and was T-bonded on the driver’s side, police said.

She was taken to the Clare Hospital for potential internal injuries.

A witness at the scene told police there was a vehicle in front of the Dodge Caravan that was about to turn onto Cranberry Lake Road. This could have obstructed Johnson’s vision, police said.

After the initial crash, Czuprenski’s vehicle slid across the intersection and hit a 2008 Dodge Ram.

The Ram, driven by Jamie Davis, 34, of Harrison, was at the stop sign when it was hit by Czuprenski, police said.
