Voice commands in vehicles still cause distraction

Researchers at the University of Utah tested out systems controlled by voice commands.

They’re marketed as conveniences that help keep your hands on the wheel.

But the tests found it took drivers as many as 27 seconds to return to full attention after using them.

Systems in the Chevy Equinox, Buick LaCross and Toyota 4Runner were called the least distracting. The Mazda 6 received the worst marks.
