OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The 69-year-old driver accused of hitting and killing a Michigan State Police trooper in August has been arrested.

Charles Raymond Warren Jr., from Waterford, was arraigned on two felony counts today. They include reckless driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death.

MSP Lt. David Kaiser said extra care was taken in this case.

"You know, it's another step forward toward closure," Kaiser said. "It still is not going to bring back Trooper Wolf, it's still not going to bring back the children's father, or a wife's husband, but the prosecutor felt that there was enough evidence to issue that two-count warrant."

Michigan State Police trooper Chad Wolf died on August 28 after he was hit along Dixie Highway near Interstate 75.

Wolf was on his motorcycle, and was working in northern Oakland County’s Springfield Township when he was hit by a vehicle pulling a trailer.

Detectives who did not know Wolf or anything of the officers close to Wolf completed the investigation.

If convicted, Warren faces a maximum of 15 years on each count.
