DETROIT (AP) -

Halloween is a time for people to dress up in fun costumes and eat lots of candy, but some cities may be better suited for the holiday than others.

WalletHub ranked the 100 largest cities across the country to find the best and worst cities for Halloween.

Detroit ranked 98 on the list, making it one of the worst cities.

The study ranked the cities using metrics including the number of candy stores per capita, weather forecasts, and violent crime rates.

Detroit’s violent crime is 40 times higher than Irvine, Calif., the city with the lowest crime rate.

The Motor City ranked 92 for safety and surroundings, 52 for parties and activities and 96 for Halloween weather.

Detroit was the only Michigan city included in the study.
