WASHINGTON, DC (WNEM) -

New poll results for the Republican primary race show Donald Trump is not the favorite anymore.

Ben Carson has risen to the top in the race for the Republican nomination.

According to a new poll released on Tuesday by CBS News and the New York Times, Carson has 26 percent of the votes among the Republican primary voters.

Trump is in second with 22 percent and Marco Rubio is in third with 8 percent. Jeb Bush and Carly Fiorina tie for fourth place with 7 percent.

Although Carson is in the lead, Trump’s supporters are more firm in their choice than Carson’s, according to CBS News.

More than half of Trump’s supporters said their minds are made up. Meanwhile, 19 percent of Carson’s supporters said their minds are made up.

The poll was conducted by telephone from Oct. 21 through the 25 among a random sample of 1,289 adults.

The error for the poll could be plus or minus four percentage points.
