Michigan Senate will not vote on road funding Tuesday

LANSING, MI (WNEM) -

Last week, the Michigan House of Representatives pushed through a piece of legislation to fund the necessary $1.2 billion to fix Michigan’s crumbling roads.

On Tuesday, the Michigan Senate was expected to vote on the measure, but no vote will be held today.

The House plan would use the general fund, an increase in gas and diesel taxes and a hike in vehicle registration fees to cover the costs.

But Sen. Mike Green said he’s not likely to vote on the plan.

“We’ll see if they can get enough votes or not,” Green said.
