GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Police are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found dead on the side of a highway.

Grand Blanc Township police responded to the scene on northbound I-75 at the Dort Highway exit ramp Thursday night about 9:15 p.m.

Police were investigating a disabled vehicle on the ramp when the victim was discovered, police said.

The vehicle was unoccupied, but the victim was found about 100 yards away in the grass. There were three gas cans next to the victim, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victim was not struck by a vehicle and there were no obvious signs of trauma. They declared the 27-year-old Davisburg man’s death suspicious.

Police are awaiting the autopsy results to determine the cause of death.

The investigation showed the man was at the Marathon gas station at Dort Highway and Grand Blanc Road about 7:30 p.m. He purchased the gas cans and the gas, police said.

He was then given a ride by an unknown white sedan. The vehicle dropped the man off at the top of the ramp.

The man was walking back to his vehicle at the time of his death, police said.

Police would like to speak to the driver of the white sedan. If you have any information on the incident call Detective Matt Harburn at 810-424-2611.
