Posted: Updated:

A woman was transported to a hospital after driving the wrong way on US-127.

It happened near the South Harrison/M-61 exchange in Clare County.

Police received a call of a driver traveling south bound in the north bound lanes on Halloween about 11:30 p.m.

Deputies from the Clare County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene to intercept the vehicle.

The vehicle reportedly ran several cars off the road and was traveling at a high rate of speed, police said.

A deputy deployed spike strips and disabled the vehicle.

The driver was a 62-year-old Saginaw woman. She appeared to be suffering from a medical condition, police said.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No one was hurt during the incident.

Police said the woman is doing better medically.
