SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

It's no secret that we're in for a much warmer than average start to the month of November. Temperatures at the beginning and middle of your workweek are expected to be from 10-20 degrees above average, accompanied by plenty of sunshine. So are we going to break any records? We certainly have a shot!

Breaking it down from Tuesday through Thursday, here's where our records stand in Saginaw (MBS Airport) and Flint (Bishop Airport). This data is courtesy of the National Weather Service in Detroit.

Tuesday, November 3rd

Saginaw: 74° (1938)

Flint: 75° (1990)

Wednesday, November 4th

Saginaw: 71° (2008)

Flint: 72° (2008)

Thursday, November 5th

Saginaw: 75° (1978)

Flint: 76° (1978)

The reason for this early November warmth is a large ridge that's in place over the Midwest. A ridge is an area of relatively higher pressure, and we typically see temperatures above-average. In conjunction with this ridge, we also have plenty of sunshine and breezy southwest winds bringing in warmer air from the south.

These conditions are expected to hold over the next couple of days, giving us a great shot at tying or breaking these records. Considering we're at 74 degrees this afternoon at Flint with other locations hitting the 70s, too, it's looking good. We'll see how it plays out!
