Fire department hands out more than 100 coats to kids

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

While Monday’s weather looked more like late summer than November, firefighters handed out coats to kids.

The Saginaw Fire Department visited the Arthur Eddy Academy and Merrill Park to distribute coats to more than 100 kids before temperatures drop.

Organizers said now is the time to make sure kids are warm for the winter.

“A lot of kids walk to schools and with our winters around here, it gets very cold,” said Brandon Hausbeck, Saginaw Fire Department. “Just to be able to make the kids warm on their walk to and from school – it’s great.”
