SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two teenagers were hospitalized after the driver lost control of his vehicle and rolled it.

It happened on Nov. 3 at 9:30 p.m. on Harrington Road near Kilgore Road in Sanilac County’s Buel Township.

Sheriff’s deputies said 17-year-old David Smeader, of Carsonville, was driving west on Harrington Road when he lost control. Margaret Schieman, 18, of Croswell, was also in the truck when it left the road. The truck climbed an embankment and overturned before coming to rest on its wheels.

Both people in the truck were taken to McKenzie Hospital, but their condition is unclear.

They were wearing seat belts and investigators said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
