Troopers have identified a Mid-Michigan man who died in an accident.

Michigan State Police say that David Obertein, 68, from Bentley, was riding a motorcycle on 7 Mile Road near Townline 16 Road in Bay County’s Pinconning Township when the accident happened.

A 64-year-old Pinconning resident drove through the scene and hit Obertein, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say the dark clothing that Obertein was wearing, along with the night time lighting contributed to the second crash.

Obertein was wearing a helmet.
