SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

One person was injured in a vehicle accident involving a car and a semi on Wednesday.

The accident happened about 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Galbraith Line and Brockway roads in Sanilac County’s Speaker Township.

A 78-year-old Yale man was traveling west on Galbraith Line Road in a semi when he stopped at the stop sign at Brockway Road. The driver continues west, not seeing a black Chevrolet heading south on Brockway, police said.

The Chevrolet was driven by a 55-year-old Peck man.

The Yale man was struck on the driver’s side by the Chevrolet and the Chevrolet came to a rest in the westbound lane of Galbraith Line Road, police said.

The semi came to a rest in the northwest corner of the intersection.

The semi driver was treated at the scene and the Chevrolet driver was transported to McKenzie Hospital for treatment, police said.
