A man was injured after falling out of a tree stand while hunting Sunday morning.

The incident happened on the 2800 block of Burr Road in Sanilac County’s Washington Township.

Charles Lambert, 66, of Fraser, was not wearing a safety harness when he fell about 20 feet from the stand, police said.

The homeowner at the property went out hunting when he heard Lambert calling for help. The owner then called 911 about 7:15 a.m.

Lambert was transported by ambulance to McKenzie Hospital and later transported by helicopter to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw.

He suffered serious injuries, police said.
