SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Chad Carr, the youngest son of former University of Michigan quarterback Jason Carr, and grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, has died.

A post on the Pray for Chad Carr Facebook page said that at 1:21 p.m. today, Chad gained his angel wings.

The 5-year-old  was diagnosed with DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor, shortly before his fourth birthday and had been moved to hospice care earlier this month.

Chad was featured on ESPN College Game Day on Saturday during the Michigan State-Ohio State game. Players from both teams honored the little boy with specially designed decals on their helmets.

This comes after players from both Michigan and Ohio State men’s basketball teams decorated the Carr home with Christmas lights. Last week his family celebrated Christmas with him.
