Police see increase in larcenies from vehicles

BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

Police have reported an increase in larcenies from vehicles in one Mid-Michigan city.

The Bay City Department of Public Safety announced the increase has been mainly in the south end of the city, but also throughout the entire city.

Most incidents can be avoided if vehicle owners lock their cars and park in well-lit areas, police said.

The items that are targeted include GPS units, loose change, cell phones, CDs, and small electronics.

If the vehicle is locked, but the items are visible, suspects may break into the vehicle, police said.

If you have fallen victim to this crime, contact the Bay City Department of Public Safety at 989-892-8571.
