SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two teenagers were injured in a vehicle accident on Nov. 27.

The driver, an 18-year-old Marlette man, was driving north on Gates Road in Sanilac County’s Custer Township when he decided to pass another vehicle.

As he began to pass the vehicle he lost control of his vehicle due to road conditions and entered the ditch, police said.

After the vehicle entered the ditch, it overturned and came to a rest on its wheels, police said.

The driver and his 18-year-old male passenger were transported to McKenzie Hospital for treatment.

The accident happened shortly before 9:30 p.m.

The injured teenagers were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor, police said.
