Road rage incident leads to arrest for aggravated assault

MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

A 21-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault following a road rage incident.

Trevor Roberts, Beaverton, was being tailgated by another vehicle. Roberts responded by brake-checking the vehicle behind.

The driver responded by turning on their brights and leaving them on while continuing to follow Roberts vehicle.

After the vehicle passed Roberts’, he followed the driver to a residence in Mt. Pleasant where an argument ensued.

Roberts went to the trunk of his vehicle and obtained a pistol, racked it a couple of a times and then pointed the gun at the victim.

Police responded to the scene where the pistol was recovered.

Roberts is being charged with weapons-carrying concealed, assault with a danger weapon, weapons-felony firearm, controlled substance possession of marijuana and alcohol-open container in vehicle.
