"She thinks her daddy is a hero. It hits home," said Jeff Mallory.

On Friday morning, Mallory put those heroics to work after his daughter’s classmate, 14 year-old Logan Stewart, experienced a near-fatal heart attack at Kingston High School.

Matt Fields, an instructor of a weight room class witnessed it all.

"He started to stumble. My desk is right here and Logan took a nose dive right over here," Fields said.

Fields called over Mallory and others to help revive Stewart.

"I just went to work and once I evaluated the patient, I knew that the worst had happen," Mallory said.

Mallory is not only the fire chief in Kingston, he is also a certified paramedic. He used this defibrillator to bring Stewart back.

“I had lost so many and to save this one is special,” Mallory said.

Over the weekend Mallory, along with Fields and some other faculty members from Kingston visited Stewart at the hospital in Ann Arbor.
