Get a deal at the state surplus store

If you’ve ever wondered what happens to property seized by police, surrendered at airports or no longer needed by government agencies, we’ve got the answer and a chance for you to buy it.

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget is charged with collecting the items, and the state surplus store is going to be open to the public on Dec. 12.

From 8 a.m. until noon you can buy anything from computers and cameras to automotive equipment and jewelry. The store is located at 3111 West St. Joseph, in Lansing.

All items are being sold “as is” and untested. There will also be no returns or refunds.
