MARLETTE, MI (WNEM) -

An area high school went on lockdown Tuesday after the school received a bomb threat.

The Marlette High School’s main office received a note with a possible bomb threat about 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 8.

Students were evacuated from the building and the Marlette Police Department was called in.

The department called in the Sanilac County and Lapeer County bomb dogs, police said.

The building was cleared by the bomb dogs.

Police officers will be at the school on Wednesday to follow up on the complaint.

The investigation is ongoing.
