MIDLAND, MI (WNEM) -

It’s a festive celebration of Christmas decorations for a cause.

“We've spent so much time and effort and heart and soul into the property,” said Scott Strouse.

Strouse is a homeowner at Larkin Estates in Midland and he is gearing up for this weekend’s Homes for the Holidays Tour.

“We’re very proud of what we did and we are happy to be helping out cobblestone homes in doing this. Sense of accomplishment and giving,” Strouse said.

The 2nd annual event has five homes in Larkin Estates dressed to the nines with festive flair.

The tour will have seasonal music, refreshment's, festive prizes and even transportation around the neighborhood. Melissa Wall from Cobblestone Homes is putting this whole event together.

“This is all absolutely for a wonderful cause. It's exciting and it's fun to tour,” Wall said. “But the main purpose behind the event is to give back to the community.”

Tickets to the event are $20, and all proceeds will go to the MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. The money will help build a suite that will allow patients going through cancer treatment to visit with their families.

“Creating an environment in which struggling or receiving cancer treatment that their family can stay with them during treatment” Wall said.

Organizers said the family medical suite at the Mid-Michigan hospital will be just as nice as the homes you will see on the tour.

Having lost his mother to cancer, Strouse said he rallies behind this cause.

“Very familiar with how cancer affects families and we just thought anything we can do to help,” Strouse said.

The tour is Friday Dec. 11, from 4-8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online here.
