The unseasonably warm weather has many people, like Saginaw County resident William Griffus, jumping for joy.

"The warm weather is great," Griffus said. "The wife and I were considering moving to warm weather climate area actually so this has been an awesome break."

But with many parts of the mitten expected to flirt with record high temperatures this weekend - not everyone is thrilled.

At Apple Mountain ski resort, the slopes can't even open yet.

It's even worse for plow businesses.

Dario Murillo owns The Wash Boys, a maintenance company that removes snow and ice.

"Business obviously in the snow and ice division has been real slow," Murillo said.

He said the record warmth is bad for business.

Until the temperatures drop and the snow picks up, they're trying to find as many other projects as possible.

"Everybody is waiting. It's giving us time to actually catch up on some fall cleanups and stuff like that. Maybe do some projects we didn't anticipate starting this year, getting them geared up," Murillo said.

Griffus said, though he's not looking forward to it, he knows the warm snap will be short lived.

"It'll be back. It'll be back and we'll see the effects of winter," Griffus said.
