Broadway Theatre re-opens after CO leak

Posted: Updated:

The Broadway Theatre is open for business.

On Dec. 14 final repairs were made to the heating system that caused carbon monoxide poisoning in dozens of people on Dec. 2.

On that day multiple people reported flu-like symptoms, causing an inspection of the heating system.

Officials found 80 parts per million (ppm) of carbon monoxide. Readings over 70 ppm are considered to be a dangerous level.

A furnace that was not functioning properly was identified, and immediately shut down.

Performances were moved to nearby buildings until the fix was made.
