4 students being investigated after allegedly selling marijuana at school

Posted: Updated:

Four high school students are being investigated after a marijuana investigation in Huron County.

The Huron County Sheriff’s Department received a tip that marijuana was being sold at the Laker schools.

A deputy observed Geiger Road in Oliver Township where a duffle bag of marijuana was allegedly hidden. On Dec. 14 four male students pulled up and retrieved the bag, police said.

That deputy, along with another deputy, stopped the vehicle and found three 18-year-old males and a 16-year-old male inside. The 18-year-old who retrieved the duffle bag was arrested and the marijuana was confiscated.

The other three students were released to their parents and further possession of marijuana charges are pending, police said.

Three of the four students were school athletes and they may be permanently kicked off their teams or expelled from school.

The department is working closely with school officials to curb all illegal drug use in schools, police said.

“If you’re a teen using drugs, be prepared to face some harsh consequences that could last a lifetime,” the department said in a press release.
